Daniel Johnston & his bandwagon coming this Sunday

Oh how jollybaloonga we´re looking forwards to this event! We´re spiked up like giggly babies let loose on a giant marzipan cake! We hope…no we don´t hope, we expect to see you there this Sunday! For your own musical health & well being that is:-) For those of you that aren´t familiar with the musical & artistic genius that is Mr. Daniel Johnston, here´s a short list of things you can pick up before this Sunday:

Also playing this concert are Mark Linkous, James McNew of Yo La Tengo, Norman Blake of Teenage Fanclub, Jad Fair of Half Japanese & our dear friend Scout Niblett. She is an exceptional artist and a beautiful human being! Please visit her myspace site.

We´ll see those of you living, or not living, in Oslo at the concert.

UbuWeb

We want to give you a little tip on a great site that we´re huge fans of. It´s called UbuWeb and deals with experimental and outsider art. Here´s UbuWeb´s description of themselves:

UbuWeb is a completely independent resource dedicated to all strains of the avant-garde, ethnopoetics, and outsider arts.

The site is loaded with truly inspiring words, music, videos and much more. One can easily forget oneself and dig deep and vast into the wonderful world that this site offers. Truly a lot better and more valuable than e.g. youtube we think.

An artist that we´ve discovered just recently on UbuWeb is Raol Hausmann. Hausmann was a central figure in Dada and his collage work and phonetic poems are exceptional! Check out his UbuWeb page here.

We hope you´ll check it out and read, read, listen, watch and read some more.

Most frequent used words on the upcoming album

A little tid-bit, sporadic wordgasm or whatever you want to call it. This word-cloud shows the most frequently used words for Alpine those myriads? upcoming album. We think word-clouds are quite interesting and they can be used to spark unusual combinations of words. Check out these juicy suggestions from our cloud: “Boxed minute”, “Yr struggling forever screams”, “ride my compression bang” or the wonderful “daddy hell-horror”. :-)

A new 4 song EP ready for download!

These songs are strictly electronic pieces and quite different from the other stuff Alpine those myriads? have done in the past. Gypus has called the EP “góra” which means mountain in Polish and the song titles are: SadoMachoPrism, Emotiometer, Can you here the mountains? and The yawning fatalist.

We have furthermore decided on making this EP a free mp3 download, but with an option to donate if you heart the songs and would like to support Alpine those myriads?. This method of releasing music is something we´ll continue to do. A lot of thought has gone into this and we feel that this method is an excellent way to get our music out to as many potential listeners as possible. Some of you might wonder why we are embracing the digital format, with its perhaps poorer sound and less of that magical feeling, but times they are changing… That being said, we have dreams and we certainly hope to be capable of releasing a deluxe-double vinyl-CD-megabooklet thing someday and we think it can happen with yr support.

We´ll shut our pie holes now and let you download our quadruple wonderlings.

Update! There have been some problems opening the zipped download file for windows users, but this should work as expected now.

Something will unveil itself tomorrow...

It´s holiday time & we´re about to unveil something that we think you might appreciate. You may notice that we have set up a donation link in the sidebar…this will all make more sense in 24 hours.

Be sure to dial in tomorrow evening!
